The Genesis

The zest to promote rural education sowed the seeds for the genesis of Aspire Foundation in March 2005. This non-profit initiative was conceived with the simple aim of supporting poor rural students to complete school education. The first batch consisted of 16 students from economically backward rural families in Nilakottai and Batlagundu blocks. Aspire Foundation provided financial support to these students to complete their school education and also conducted other programs to add value to the education these students received from school.

  1. To improve educational opportunities for children from economically backward families, primarily in rural areas, with emphasis on overall development of the child
    1. To improve quality of education for rural children from economically weak families
    2. To ensure that poor rural children have access to education and are able to take informed decisions about their education & career
    3. To improve quality of education in schools by equipping schools with better learning materials, training and infrastructure such that they become effective child-friendly learning environments
  2. To promote employment opportunities for rural youth through skill development, apprenticeship and entrepreneurship
  3. To create awareness about preventive health care, nutrition and other health-related aspects among rural communities
